About Kavitha K V
She is a Preventive foot care specialist (preventive podiatrist) at Chellaram Diabetes Institute(CDI), Pune, India. She has completed her Diploma in Podiatry Science from Amrita Institute of medical Sciences and Research Centre, cochin.
During her course of study she had undergone extensive training in the diagnosis, management and prevention of diabetes foot related problems including peripheral neuropathy, peripheral arterial disease, diabetic foot ulcer and infections.
She had undergone a certificate course in Diabetes Education from Dr Mohan’s Diabetic Centre in association with International Diabetes Federation and Indian Association of Diabetes Educators.
She is graduated in psychology and done her Master’s in Business Administration specializing in Hospital Management from IDE- University of Madras, Chennai and now pursuing her Bachelors in Law from Pune university.
Her area of interest lies in the prevention of foot complication via educating the needy, wound care management through advanced wound care regime and with modern technologies.
She is working with Chellaram Diabetes Institute since last 5 years and 7 months. She was formally associated with MV hospital for Diabetes and Diabetes Research Centre (A WHO collaborating center for research, education and training), Chennai.
She was once of the faculty for 2weeks -Diabetic foot training programme (for national and international participates) for Doctors and nurses (Endocrinologists, Diabetologist, Surgeons and Nursing tutors from Tanzania, Vietnam, Bangladesh and in and around India had participated in the course).
She was also an In- charge of an online portal exclusively for diabetic foot patients.
She is one of the course development faculty for the Digital online course on CME in Diabetic foot management (CDFM) which is live in Docplexus – an online platform for doctors.
She is an Editorial board member and reviewer for of an International Journal-Clinical Research on Foot and Ankle
She has been Awarded the Best research paper (free paper session) at National conferences: DFSICON2018 held at hotel park Hayat, Hyderabad, DFSICON2016 held at Aurangabad, Maharashtra and AEDFC 2013 held at Cochin, Kerala, India.
She has authored few research publications in National and International Journals and had authored chapters in Text Books.
She has also participated as Faculty in various International, National and State conferences.
